Why needed the linear or quadratic have X2

 

Its not really needed. An equation doesnt necessarily have a squared variable.

There are equations that will look like the following (with and without squared variable):

1. 6x3-x2 - 5x + 7

2. x2 - 5x + 7

3. 2x + 7

P.S. next to the x are actually exponents such as "x2" and 6"x3"
